An organic cotton tea towel from Ali Davies' Patterns of New Zealand range, with her kōwhai motif tessellated into a formal, mosaic-like repeat on a full-colour background.
Kōwhai's loose, hanging blooms are broken down and pieced back together into a tight, tile-like repeat, giving the cloth the quality of a hand-laid mosaic. Simple, but precise. The pattern sold out in earlier iterations and returns on a new textured organic cotton base cloth.
Slight colour lightening may occur after the first wash; this is expected and part of the fabric's character. Designed in Aotearoa, made in India.
About Ali Davies
The Patterns of New Zealand range by Ali Davies is a celebration of the flora and fauna of Aotearoa. Her designs follow two themes: 'unity', an equal repetition of a motif that represents the fundamental equality we have with each other, and 'be the hero', which shines a light on what is unique about a particular plant or object of nature.
