Meet Laura
Owner, chief curator, & the kind of gift giver who gets as excited as the person opening it.
I've spent a lot of time in this store over the years, so when it came up for sale in 2024 (when my youngest, Teddy, was just five months old) we went for it. Rebranding to Nest & Nook meant a fresh new chapter for this much-loved local space — one that's been part of the Taradale community, in one form or another, for almost 30 years.
We take the ‘family business’ thing quite literally, too. My husband Steve is all over the tech, our daughter Sophie works weekends, little Maeve and Teddy charm customers on cue, and Mum's the queen of gift wrapping. Our angel baby triplets — our little loves — are also woven into the heart of Nest & Nook, reminding us that it's often the smallest things that leave the biggest imprint.
And really, that's what gifting is all about.
A little something that says so much — without a single word.
(Don't worry, we can help you make sure your gift says all the right things!)
With love,
Laura x
